Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Kidder Mathews has the largest valuation advisory group in the Pacific Northwest with the highest number of appraisers who have earned the MAI designation. The firm offers a full range of appraisal, valuation and consulting services and specializes in investment grade real estate with a widely diversified background in appraisal, market analysis, and counseling for the development, acquisition, sale, leasing and financing of major urban real estate throughout the Western United States.

In March 2010, we opened the Portland, OR branch, with plans for future expansion. I am seeking an experienced commercial real estate appraiser with diverse experience and their Certified General license. This person must be detail-oriented, very deadline-sensitive and be pleasant and professional. Our office is in downtown Portland. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BA/BS preferred, associates degree or experience acceptable; knowledge of basic computer hardware and software (word documents, spreadsheets, email); able to operate in a fast paced, hands on learning environment and build on basic concepts relating to tangible asset valuation and accounting standards; six months related experience in appraisal, inventory, accounting or construction fields a plus; valid driver's license; dependable transportation to accommodate the travel requirements of the position; will travel approx. 60% to 70% of time; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to interface successfully with clients, other appraisers, managers, and AssetWorks administrative staff; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously; and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.

Job Description - Production Appraiser (Portland Oregon or Lake Oswego)
This position is responsible for appraising multi-family and commercial properties that typically collateralize loans of $1,000,000 to $10,000,000 in the greater Portland, Oregon Metro Area. The office location will be in either downtown Portland or Lake Oswego. Appraisal work is conducted in accordance with internal policies/procedures, USPAP and FIRREA requirements. A Certified General License with a strong background in multi-family and commercial valuation is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Appraises multi-family and commercial properties following USPAP, FIRREA and internal policies and procedures.
  • Estimates market value and writes timely, accurate and complete appraisal reports using designated forms and narrative formats.
  • Keeps abreast of current real estate market conditions and their effect on residential and commercial markets in assigned geographic areas.
  • Prepares complete file documentation in accordance with internal documentation guidelines to ensure clear audit trail.

Commercial Review Appraiser – Umpqua Bank The Real Estate Valuation Services Department with Umpqua Bank is requesting applications for a full-time commercial review appraiser position in Tigard, Oregon. The position handles complex and varied loan portfolio reviews where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. The purpose of this job/position is to function as a staff team leader to plan, direct and participate in appraisal team activities of evaluating and assisting local government with assessment of property to ensure compliance with property tax law. COOS COUNTY ASSESSOR'S OFFICE: Property Appraiser III
This classification has lead and technical appraisal responsibility to plan, organize, direct, and facilitate the day-to-day activities of the appraisal division. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the analytical evaluation and appraisal of complex properties. This classification is indirectly responsible for meeting goals and assignments through all appraisal employee of the department. See attached job description.

Research support position available February 1, 2011 with an established Portland based commercial appraisal firm. Responsibilities include field investigation, planning department interviews, subject property and comparable data development, transaction confirmation, internet research and a broad range of related market analysis. Must have a college degree or experience equivalent as well as excellent interpersonal, computer, writing and telephone interview skills. Real estate related experience is required with preference given to those having an appraisal or commercial brokerage background. References required. This is not an appraiser trainee position.
